Mini-Group Think

Last night, I saw Watchmen (which I enjoyed), and I've been thinking a bit about Superheroes. So I decided it was time for a Superhero themed round of Group Think. [You may remember it, Group Think was very popular last time, back in 2007.]

Explaining the rules again:

It is a game-in-a-poll. The rules are basically like Family Feud, though you are both survey taker and question answerer.

Basically, you answer the questions. When all is said and done, next Friday (the 20th), I'll tally up the answers. You get one point for every answer that matches yours (including your own). Blank answers are worth zero points. Since there are six questions, the minimum score for answering all the questions will be 6, and the max will be 6xNumber of poll takers -- but in order for that to happen, everyone would have to answer everything the same.

Most all the poll questions exclude one or more popular answers -- an "isn't". You'll see what I mean in a moment.

Last time I did a bunch more questions and a number of rounds, but that made scoring a pain. This time, I'm just going to do one short round, but if this is as popular as last time, I may do another a few months down the line.

Here we go:
Poll #1364929 Superheroes Group Think
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: None, participants: 34

Name a Superhero who has *not* appeared in a major motion picture:

Name a Batman villian who isn't the Joker:

Name a comic book company that is neither Marvel nor DC:

Name a song about a Super Hero that is not "Iron Man":

Name a movie based on an Alan Moore story that isn't Watchmen:

Bonus question: Name a Superhero who does not have a secret identity:

Comments

Stupid question: are you filter for questions that violate the rules? Meaning, if twenty people answer "Captain America" for the first one, do those answer get thrown out because of Matt Salinger's classic performance, or do they get 20 points?

Stupid question: are you filter for questions that violate the rules?

I vote for no filtering, since this is a test of perception and group awareness.

Makes sense (and honestly, it doesn't change my answers).

It reminds me of an old episode of Family Feud. The question was "Name a great home-run hitter" and the bottom answer (with like 6%) was Pete Rose.

Needless to say, no one got it.

I think you just summed up why I stopped watching that show when I was growing up.

You are predicting what the group will answer -- if you think that everyone will answer incorrectly, that would be the best guess!

Makes sense; since I assume that you associate with smart, well-informed folks, though, I'm assuming they'll pick the character I did. :-)

Durrr, I answered but didn't necessarily answer anticipating for most popular answers. Cause my brain is mush. Oh well :P.

Oh, Lord. I just gave my answers two seconds of thought and realized I'm an idiot. I preemptively apologize for when the answers are revealed.

You can change your answers :P.

Well that's out of line with the spirit of the game, isn't it? :)

Well, I changed one as I didn't fully read the rules before popping in and answering. It was too obscure and I wouldn't have put it down had I been in full "Family Feud" mode. Of course, um, I claim pregnancy brain :P.

I didn't read the rules before I answered. Sorry.

That's ok! That's one of the things people have to take into account when guessing!

I read the rules, and went for a low score anyway. So I can at least say I went outside group think on purpose. :P

Not that "Iron Man" is actually about the super hero...

Then again, we'll see how accurate my answers are.

For those who haven't heard it, Aquaman's Lamment is a GREAT song. You should all download it and laugh and laugh and laugh.

Eh, I, too, didn't really give any answer a lot of thought. Not feeling like much of a lemming today.

And Power Girl totally needs to have her own movie, for at least three good reasons.
